Evil dad, 41, raped his stepdaughter 1,800 times from the age of 10 and brutally beat her stomach when she fell pregnant in an attempt to make her miscarry
A man who raped his stepdaughter 1,800
times from the age of 10 and then beat her when she fell pregnant has
been jailed for 15 years.
The man, from Kingaroy, northwest of Brisbane, was on Friday found guilty of maintaining a relationship with a child, rape and assault, The Courier Mail reported.
The
court heard the 41-year-old man started violating the girl from the age
of 10 over a six-year period, until the victim ran away from home at
age of 16.

During
the six-year ordeal, it's estimated he raped her 1,800 times, and after
getting her pregnant, he bashed her in an attempt to make her miscarry,
the court was told.
But even after
the teenager gave birth to the man's son at age 15, he continued to rape
her - often in front of the newborn child - in the family home.
The
abuse took place while the girl's mother was out or in another room,
and it remains unclear whether she knew the offending had taken place.
When Judge
Deborah Richards sentenced the man in Brisbane District Court on
Friday, she said he had also attacked the girl when the family lived
interstate.

While the man wasn't charged for the
attacks that happened interstate, Judge Richards took the offending into
consideration during sentencing.
'The
fact that she was impregnated by you and you still offended against her
- there were rapes from 10 years of age - this was persistent, brazen,
violent,' Judge Richards said.
The
court heard he tried to get the girl to have an abortion, and when she
declined he brutally beat her in the stomach, saying: 'There are always
ways to kill it.'
The judge said as
the girl became older the offending escalated - and the man used rape as
a way to 'punish, control and humiliate' her.

Despite
fleeing the man, the victim, now 19, reportedly struggles with everyday
life, and often feels suicidal as a result of having to raise his
four-year-old son.
In a statement
tendered to the court, the 19-year-old said she longed for a 'normal
life' and, looking back, she just wanted to be a regular teenager like
other kids.
On Friday, Judge Richards
recalled the events that led up to the then 16-year-old making the
desperate decision to flee the man forever.
She
described how the man raped the girl after she confronted him to say he
had ruined her life - and then he did it again later that day after
taking the child away from her.
'You took the child away and said you didn't get to finish and raped her again,' Judge Richards said.
Shortly afterwards, the 16-year-old fled the home and has never returned.
Judge
Richards said the man had shown no regard for the victim - aside from
acknowledging she was struggling with mental health after he was
charged.
He was jailed for 15 years and will be eligible for parole in 2030.
