Celebrity Kids Who Make Their Parents Look Bad

Growing up as the child of a celebrity isn’t easy. You’re constantly in the limelight, you have unlimited access to money, and it’s easy to get caught up in the wrong crowd. It’s rare to find a celebrity with a kid who hasn’t ended up in some sort of trouble.
These kids couldn’t avoid the temptation and allowed Hollywood to get the best (and the worst) of them. Even someone as wholesome as Tom Hanks couldn’t keep his son from getting caught up with drug addiction. Read on to find out which kids have ended up arrested, in rehab, and making their famous parents want to pull out their hair.

Robert Downey Jr.’s Son Is Just As Troubled As He Is

RDJ’s eldest son, Indio Downey, was busted in 2014 for possession of cocaine. His father immediately sent him to rehab for substance abuse because if anyone knows what it’s like to rise and fall thanks to drugs, it’s Robert Downey Jr.
RDJ was Hollywood’s resident bad boy for years and was actually in and out of rehab while Indio was a young boy. Downey Jr.’s substance abuse is part of the reason why he and Indio’s mother divorced.

Hulk Hogan’s Son Left Someone Else Paralyzed For Life

Hulk Hogan’s son Nick went to court in 2007 after he crashed a car and left the passenger, his best friend and Iraq war veteran John Graziano, in a vegetative state. The brain injury that Graziano sustained requires at-home care for the rest of his life.
Nick was charged with reckless driving, use of a motor vehicle while committing a felony, and driving with a blood alcohol level under the age of 21.

Ozzy Osbourne’s Daughter Was Once A Wild Child

Kelly Osbourne might be all cleaned up now and making a name for herself in the fashion world, but back in 2008, she was still a spoiled kid who was struggling with fame. Kelly was arrested for assault after she aggressively slapped journalist Zoe Griffin at a club.
The arrest came nearly one year after the actual incident, but nevertheless, Kelly was required to turn herself into Scotland Yard and attend a court in London.

Martin Sheen’s Son Is The Definition Of A Problem Child

Charlie Sheen might be a grown man in his fifties, but that doesn’t excuse his wild child actions. The son of legendary actor Martin Sheen, Charlie has been arrested for a ton of different crimes, from drug abuse to assault charges.
Most recently, he was handed an emergency restraining order from his ex-fiancée, Brett Rossi, after he allegedly assaulted her. Charlie might not be considered a celebrity child anymore but he sure acts like one.

Cameron Douglas Is The Black Sheep Of The Douglas Dynasty

Cameron, the son of Michael Douglas and grandson of Kirk Douglas, tried to get into the family business by appearing in four films, but quickly got arrested for possession of cocaine. Then, in 2007, he was found with 0.5 pounds of meth.
Cameron was charged with intent to distribute and sentenced to five years in prison. The sentence was extended in 2011 when he was found with drugs in prison.

Marlon Brando’s Son Was Convicted Of Manslaughter

Christian Brando was thrown in prison for six years after he was found guilty of killing his half-sister’s boyfriend in 1990. According to Christian, his half-sister Cheyenne had told him that her boyfriend was abusive and that she was scared to leave him. As a result, Christian invited the boyfriend over to his father’s estate and shot him.
Christian was released from prison in 1996 but nearly a decade later in 2005, he was charged with spousal abuse.

Cindy Crawford’s Son Is A Supermodel In Supertrouble

Presley Gerber, the son of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, ended up in deep legal problems on New Year’s Eve of 2018 after being pulled over for drinking and driving. A supermodel himself, Presley was 19 at the time and drinking above the legal limit for someone of age.
Presley was arrested on the scene and taken to jail, where his mom or dad likely had to come and bail him out.

Chet Hanks Is Tom Hanks’ Forgotten Son

Everyone knows about Colin Hanks, Tom’s acting son who looks and sounds just like him, but everyone seems to forget about Chet, the one who has struggled with drug addiction and lawsuits. Chet checked himself into rehab in 2015 after he rear-ended a driver while on a binge.
Chet’s actions affected his parents though, as Tom and wife Rita Wilson were named as co-defendants in the lawsuit because they owned the car and knew about Chet’s sobriety issues.

Nicolas Cage’s Son Was Charged With Domestic Assault

Nic Cage’s first son, Weston Cage, ended up in a drunken brawl with his now-ex-wife, Nikki Williams, in 2011. She charged him with domestic assault and, while no charges went through, it also led him to go to rehab for drug abuse.
The same year Weston was beaten up by his personal trainer because she wanted to order certain menu items. Apparently, Weston has such a reputation that even bad boy Tommy Lee hates him.

Bobbi Kristina Brown’s Troubles Had A Tragic Ending

It was no secret that Bobbi Kristina Brown, the daughter of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown, lived a troubled life, especially after her mother’s death in 2012. A video surfaced of Bobbi doing what appeared to be cocaine, the same drug that killed her mother.
Bobbi also made headlines after announcing her engagement to a man her father severely disapproved of. Sadly, it all came to an end in 2015 when Bobbi was found unconscious in a bathtub.

George W. Bush’s Daughters Didn’t Act So Presidential

Back in 2001, President George W. Bush’s twin daughters, Barbara and Jenna, were charged with underage drinking. The twins were only 20 at the time and arrested in Texas, where the legal drinking age is 21.
It may not sound like much, but in early 2001, this was a huge presidential scandal. That’s what happens when you have 20-year-olds in the White House. It would all end up being overshadowed though a few months later after the September 11 attacks.

Jackie Chan’s Son Isn’t Like His Father When It Comes To Drugs

The legendary action film star Jackie Chan found his son caught up in a huge drug bust back in 2015. Jaycee Chan was sentenced to six months in prison in Beijing after Chinese police found more than 100 grams of marijuana on him.
The arrest was even more controversial because Jackie Chan is actually the anti-drugs ambassador for the Chinese government. Not only was Jaycee arrested, but he also deeply dishonored his father.

Two Of Bruce Willis’ Daughters Have Struggled

Bruce Willis and Demi Moore had three daughters together — Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah —and two of them have had their share of legal missteps. In 2014, the youngest sister, Tallulah, was forced to enter rehab when she was only 20 after years of hard partying. That same year, middle sister Scout was arrested for giving cops a fake ID while drinking underage.
Both sisters have cleaned up their act, probably so that they can live up to the example set by older sister Rumer.

Michael Jordan’s Son Couldn’t Follow In His Footsteps

Legendary basketball player Michael Jordan had high expectations for both of his sons, but Marcus James couldn’t follow up. Marcus tried to follow in dad’s footsteps by playing basketball in high school and college, but he never made it to the NBA. Then, in 2012, he was arrested for disorderly conduct when he ended up in a fight with two women.
While that may have been his last legal trouble, Marcus made waves again after sharing a photo of his private parts on his very public Twitter account.

Hugh Hefner’s Son Was As Abusive As It Gets

Playboy founder Hugh Hefner had two children early in his life with his first wife, and another two later in the 1990s with his second wife. His second-youngest child, Marston Hefner, ended up being the most troubled. Marston was arrested in 2012 for beating up his Playmate girlfriend Claire Sinclair.
He was sentenced to spend one year in a domestic violence program because he also vandalized and damaged her laptop.

Nicole Ritchie Became Famous For Her Wild Child Ways

The adopted daughter of singer Lionel Ritchie was always around fame, but made her stake in the early 2000s by playing the dimwitted party girl alongside former BFF Paris Hilton. The act became serious in 2003 though when Nicole was charged with possession of heroin.
It got worse three years later when she was convicted of drunk driving. Now, Nicole has straightened out and started a family. It seemed like she just needed to step away from the limelight and the bad influences.

We Still Don’t Know The Reason Behind Johnny Cash’s Son’s Arrest

The son of country music legend Johnny Cash found himself under arrest in the quiet town of Deer Lake, Newfoundland, Canada, in 2014. John Carter Cash was trying to return home from a hunting expedition when he decided to randomly strip down to his underwear and begin yelling.
Apparently, he was completely cooperative, but police received conflicting reports on whether he was drunk or having medical issues. Whatever the reason, it was still embarrassing.

Keith Richards’ Daughter Has A Grudge Against Nuns

It’s one thing to end up arrested for writing graffiti on a normal wall, but singer Keith Richards’ daughter Theodora vandalized a convent wall. A police officer arrested her after finding her mid-graffiti while in possession of marijuana and another drug.
It’s no surprise that Theodora was trying to express herself through graffiti. In the model’s spare time, she loves to paint and draw. She’s even begun studying art in her later life.

Stephanie Bon Jovi Admitted To A Drug Problem

Stephanie, daughter of Jon Bon Jovi, disgraced her father’s name in 2012 when she was arrested in New York City for heroin possession. The arrest came while she was in the hospital after an overdose.
Thankfully, the charges were dropped but it didn’t change her famous father’s perception of his daughter. In an interview one year later with Daily Mirror, Jon Bon Jovi said it was his “worst moment as a father.”

Farrah Fawcett’s Son Had A Long List Of Offenses

Redmond O’Neal, the son of Farrah Fawcett and her lifelong partner Ryan O’Neal, has been arrested more times than his mother would like. It began in 2008 when he was first sent to prison for heroin possession.
Then, in 2011, he was caught with the illegal possession of firearms and drugs. He was let off, but broke his parole in 2014 for the same charges. Fawcett passed away in 2009 and thankfully didn’t live to see her son get in this much trouble.

Another Bush Daughter Made Headlines For Drugs

Another member of the Bush family, Noelle Bush, gave the family a bad name back in 2002 when she was arrested for possession of hard drugs. Noelle is Jeb Bush’s daughter, and niece to former President George W. Bush.
Despite the drug charges, her father seems to have supported her over the years. In an interview in 2015, Jeb says that in 2002 Noelle “went through hell” and that getting clean for her “wasn’t easy.”

Rod Stewart’s Son Has Been Arrested Multiple Times

Sean Stewart is one of Rod Stewart’s eight children who quickly learned about the bad side of the entertainment business. Sean’s path to multiple arrests began in 2002 when he was arrested for felony assault.
Then, in 2007, when he and Randy Spelling starred in the reality show Sons of Hollywood, he was charged with driving with a suspended license. The icing on the cake was when he was arrested in 2015 for riding an airport baggage carousel.

Laurence Fishburne’s Daughter Went Out Of Her Way To Be Bad

It’s one thing to do something wrong and end up in a pair of handcuffs, but Laurence Fishburne’s daughter Montana tried time and time again to tarnish her father’s name. In 2015, she released a self-made sex tape that her father had repeatedly tried to have destroyed.
Montana said she hoped the tape would help her become the “next Kim Kardashian.” Well, that didn’t happen, and two years later she ended up in rehab for an embarrassing DUI.

Tatum O’Neal Was Happy To Get Busted

Former child star Tatum O’Neal and daughter of Ryan O’Neal says that looking back, she’s glad that police arrested her. In 2008, Tatum was busted trying to buy crack cocaine on the street from a drug dealer.
The arrest forced her to confront the addiction that she’d struggled with for decades. In her autobiography four years before the arrest, she blamed her drug addiction on her father and even claimed he physically and emotionally abused her.

Joe Montana’s Son Was Caught Drinking Underage

Nate Montana, the son of one of the greatest quarterbacks, Joe Montana, was caught drinking underage one too many times for his father’s liking. The first arrest came at a party near his school in Notre Dame, Indiana in 2010. Nate was only charged for a misdemeanor at that point.
Only a couple months later though, Nate was found yet again drinking underage, but this time he was driving under the influence.

Richard Hilfiger Was Trying To Live The Gangster Lifestyle

One of Tommy Hilfiger’s five sons, Richard, was arrested in 2010 for the intent to sell drugs. Luckily, his famous father paid for his $20,000 bail, but forced him to go to rehab. Richard didn’t seem to appreciate daddy’s help though and tried to capitalize on the incident.
Richard is also a wannabe rapper (who goes by Ricky Hil) and released the songs “Ricky Goes To Rehab” and “I Just Got Outta Rehab.”

James Brown’s Daughter Committed Grand Theft Auto

It’s pretty surprising that only one of James Brown’s 9 (possibly 13, the number is unknown) kids made it onto this list considering how troubled the singer himself was. It was his daughter Venisha though who was slammed with an arrest after committing a hit and run with a stolen car in 2012.
That meant not only was she charged with grand theft auto, but also assault, battery, and leaving the scene of an accident.

Malcolm X’s Daughter Was Trying To Get Revenge

Qubilah Shabazz, the daughter of human rights activist Malcolm X, was arrested in 1995 for plotting to kill Louis Farrakhan. At the time, she believe that Farrakhan was the one who was responsible for her father’s assassination.
While you might have some sympathy for a daughter trying to right a wrong, it doesn’t help when you find out that at the time she was also addicted to drugs and alcohol. Qubilah was ordered to go to rehab and psychological counseling.

Al Gore’s Son Couldn’t Live Up To The Pressure

It seems that being a politician’s child makes every move even more scrutinized. Al Gore III, the son of the former Vice President, was arrested in 2007 on the suspicion of marijuana possession. At the time, he was also caught speeding.
While you might think that speeding doesn’t warrant an arrest and search of your car, it’s important to know that Gore III was charged for possession of marijuana back in 2003 as well.

Cyberbullying And An Attack Led To Difficult Teenage Years For Paris Jackson

Sadly, the King of Pop was not around to support his eldest daughter through some of the most difficult years of her life. When Paris was only 14, she was sexually assaulted by an older man. That same year, she was cyberbullied over rumors that she wasn’t actually Michael Jackson’s child.
All of this led to Paris attempting to commit suicide three times in her teenage years. Thankfully, she’s recovered and has found her calling in acting.
