5 Ways to Tag Your Facebook Groups Members

5 Ways to Tag Your Facebook Groups Members

Do you know how to tag your Facebook groups members ?
Tagging members is a good way to start a conversation, increase the visibility of your posts, engage your members and build a relationship with them.
When you tag members, you create links to their profiles. Other members can click on the names and go to see the tagged members’ profiles. In this way, your members can know each other.
The tagged members will be notified that you have tagged them. You invite them to have a look at your posts, photos, videos… and to participate in the conversation. In this way, you are more likely to get their reactions and comments.
You will see 5 ways to tag your members in this article:
  • Tag your members in a post
  • Tag your members in a photo
  • Tag your members in a video
  • Tag your members in an album
  • Tag your members in a comment or reply

1. Tag your members in a post

There are 2 methods to tag your members: in your post and in your post text.

– in your post

Click “Tag Friends” in a post.
Click “Post”.
With this method, you won’t be able to edit the tagged members when the post is published.

– in your post text

Write “@+name” and choose the member you want to tag from the list. You can mention a page with this method.
There will be a frame in light blue behind the tagged member’s name or in grey behind the tagged page’s name.
You can tag at most 50 members in a post text.
You can edit tagged members and pages by editing the post text.

2. Tag your members in a photo

Add a photo to your post, hover over it and click the icon on the left side.
From the pop-up windows, click on the photo. Type and choose a name from the list. Click “Save”.
You can add or remove tags from your photo after the publication.

3. Tag your members in a video

Add your video. When it is posted or added to your album, click on it. Add or remove tags.
You can hover over the video. Click “Options” and “Edit this video” in the bottom-right corner of the video.
Add or remove tags.

4. Tag your members in an album

When creating an album, you can click on the photo to tag your members.
You can click on the album already created and tag your members.

5. Tag your members in a comment or reply

When writing a comment or reply, use “@+name” and choose the member/page you want to tag from the list.
There will be a frame in light blue behind the tagged member’s name or in grey behind the tagged page’s name.
You can add or remove tags by editing the comment or reply.
Note: if you tag a person or a page who isn’t a member of a closed or secret group, this person/page won’t get notified or see your post.
